Canberra Community Melody Collective (CCMC) is an independent, apolitical, and community based organisation. Our mission is to promote community arts—especially music and performing arts—for the public benefit across the ACT Capital Region.
We organise and present live music events, concerts, and performances that are co-created by and for the local community, fostering creative expression and active participation.
We provide platforms for local musicians, performers, and artists of all ages and backgrounds—including children—to share their work, connect with audiences, and take part in collaborative projects without age restrictions.
Through a range of initiatives, we support collaborative artistic growth, encouraging innovation and the sharing of skills within our creative community.
We host engaging workshops, performances, and participatory events to inspire community members of all ages and backgrounds to connect with the arts.
We create opportunities for knowledge exchange and professional growth for freelance musicians, artists, and creative practitioners across the region.
We actively partner with like-minded organisations to further community arts, culture, and music initiatives that align with our values.
In the heart of Canberra, where the rhythms of city life blend with the natural beauty of bushland, a small group of music lovers and cultural advocates found themselves united by a simple but powerful belief: music connects people.
Local artists, families, and young creatives yearned for connection, not just through performance, but through shared experiences. Informal jam sessions in homes and public parks sparked conversations about identity, belonging, and the power of music to bridge cultural and generational divides.
Today, the Canberra Community Melody Collective (CCMC) continues to grow as a vibrant, volunteer-run hub where every voice matters. CCMC champions the belief that music is not just art—it’s a vehicle for healing, celebration, and social change.
Whether you’re an artist, a community member, or an arts supporter, there’s a place for you in the Melody Collective. Join us as we build a more creative and connected Canberra, one note at a time.
We acknowledge the Ngunnawal and Ngambri peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the Canberra region and pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging.
