About us

Our mission

Canberra Community Melody Collective (CCMC) is an independent, apolitical, and community based organisation. Our mission is to promote community arts—especially music and performing arts—for the public benefit across the ACT Capital Region.

We believe in the power of music and performance to bring people together, build connections, and celebrate creativity in all its forms.

Our strategic objectives are to:

  • Empower community creativity through inclusive music and performing arts experiences.

  • Support local artists with opportunities for development, visibility, and collaboration.

  • Foster social connection and well-being through shared creative experiences.

  • Build sustainable partnerships with organisations that share our values in community arts.

We are currently in the process of applying to become a registered charity, with the principal purpose of supporting inclusive, accessible, and community-led creative initiatives. Our vision is to foster a thriving local arts scene where music brings people together and encourages connection, creativity, and shared joy.

Our Governance Structure

We are guided by a voluntary board of community members and creative professionals who bring diverse perspectives, lived experiences, and a shared commitment to the arts. The CCMC is fully owned by the Canberra Vietnamese Association Ltd. The following officeholders represent CCMC:

  • Harry Hoang – Director – Responsible for oversight, planning, and compliance.
  • Heidi Luu – Secretary
  • Jenny Nguyen – Director

We acknowledge the Ngunnawal and Ngambri peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the Canberra region and pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging.
